I am sitting by my window basking in the warm and bright spring sunlight.
I pondered on the new beginning of spring.
I remembered that it is the usual practice at this time of the year to do a spring clean: thoroughly cleaning and de-cluttering.
Out with the past and in with the new.
I found this poem by Jo Wilmer which encapsulates the quality of my thought:
As the chill in the air fades,
And the warmth of the sun becomes stronger,
You know that you need not hold on to the past any longer.
The grey clouds are lighter,The sky is a clear blue,
And now you can see,
It is a time to start something brand new.
It reminds me of the scripture in the bible which speaks of
Remembering not the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold I am doing a new thing.
Spring invites us to partake of the newness of what life is offering.
We may need to do some spring cleaning which involves letting go of physical, emotional and spiritual entanglement and embrace the new.
I wonder where we might start with our spring cleaning as we make room for the new.
